The Primary purpose of this role is to drive our major events business, maximising commercial return from the venue outside of our core football business. This role will play a critical role in defining and executing the 'Venue 365-Strategy', a transformational project aimed at maximising the long-term commercial opportunity of the full Emirates Stadium footprint on a year-round basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility for maximising commercial opportunity from Emirates Stadium outside of core football business
  • Own the creation, delivery and ongoing evolution of the 'Emirates Stadium 365 Venue Strategy', driving maximum commercial return from venue utilization across the entire Emirates Stadium footprint
  • Prospect, negotiate and contract major stadium events (e.g. events with capacity of 10k - 60k) with a focus on maximising commercial opportunity
  • Prospect, negotiate and contract mid-tier stadium events (e.g. events with capacity of 2k - 10k) with a focus on maximising commercial opportunity
  • Where relevant, prospect, negotiate and contract small-scale stadium events (e.g. events with capacity of less than 2k) with a focus on maximising commercial opportunity
  • Direct ownership of the P&L for all venue events, regardless of capacity or revenue - driving cost efficiencies wherever possible
  • Own and refine on an annual basis the Emirates Stadium Venue Hire Agreement to constantly ensure we are maximising cost efficiencies and driving maximum yield per event
  • Hold and develop strong personal relationships with all major event promoters and producers
  • Coordination with stage managers / event owners and production staff to ensure the event production matches the event owner's requirements
  • Develop and continue to refine a short, medium and long-term CAPEX investment plan for the development of the venue event business, supported by robust business case planning and data-driven insight
  • Ownership of the Emirates Stadium event calendar, ensuring maximum commercial opportunity across the year
  • Liaise with all internal and external stake-holders across and outside the Club to deliver the full calendar of venue events, with a particular focus on Stadium Management
  • Represent Arsenal Football Club and Emirates Stadium at all relevant industry events, serving as a brand ambassador
  • Continually look for opportunities to generate incremental revenue and maximise commercial opportunity
  • Where relevant, contribute to other venue / event-based commercial negotiations - such as pre-season and mid-season Tour

Main Job Requirements and Person Specification

  • Proven experience in negotiating and securing major stadium events
  • Proven experience of driving a stadium-wide venue utilization / occupancy strategy with a focus on cost management and revenue maximization
  • Exceptional organisation skills, including proven ability to manage a fast-paced and varied workload
  • Uses initiative and proactivity, helping to create and implement new ideas
  • Ability to communicate with a broad range of internal and external customers, adapting style and approach as and when required
  • Delivers tasks with skill and urgency
  • Actively cooperates and communicates with others, fostering a culture of teamwork and collaboration
