Having started the 22/23 season, our fast-paced Sheffield United stores are looking for several casual Retail Assistant’s to join the team at both Bramall Lane and Meadowhall. As a retail team we pride ourselves on delivering a great customer experience and are looking for candidates who will deliver an excellent level of customer service and take the time to develop a strong knowledge of our products to assist all who visit our stores.

Having started the 22/23 season, our fast-paced Sheffield United stores are looking for several casual Retail Assistant’s to join the team at both Bramall Lane and Meadowhall. As a retail team we pride ourselves on delivering a great customer experience and are looking for candidates who will deliver an excellent level of customer service and take the time to develop a strong knowledge of our products to assist all who visit our stores.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assisting customers in making purchases of retail merchandise, dealing with all enquiries and correspondence in a polite and effective manner.
  • Encourage upselling and increase productivity.
  • To work together with the wider retail team to maximise retail sales and profitability.
  • Cash handling, cash register operation and being responsible for balancing daily takings.
  • The receipt and dispatch of goods where appropriate.
  • To maintain an excellent level of customer service.
  • To maintain a high level of security with regards to the retail stock and cash, having a working knowledge of all store policies and procedures.
  • To communicate effectively with colleagues and contribute to an effective retail team ethos.
  • Administration duties including filing, the organisation of literature and sorting any post.
  • Complete online orders for customers where stock is not available in store.
  • To reply to e-mails sent to the SUFC Retail inbox in a timely manner.
  • Personalisation and printing of shirts.
  • Merchandising all stock to a high standard in line with the store floorplan.
  • To ensure the cleanliness of all retail areas, including the stockroom areas.
  • Assist in the checking of stock and goods in and out where applicable.
  • To support with and carry out stocktaking duties when applicable.
  • To adhere to all Sheffield United Football Club’s Safeguarding Policies and Procedures to foster an environment which protects from harm those defined as children and adults at risk.
  • To report any concerns of a Safeguarding nature to the relevant parties and remain fully compliant with any applicable Safeguarding checks and due diligence and recognise your responsibility to the Club’s Safeguarding agenda.
  • To report any concerns of discrimination to the relevant parties and promote a welcoming and inclusive club environment for all.
  • To adhere to the Club’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion policies, supporting the Club to create an environment which is inclusive and all-encompassing.
  • Any other reasonable requests as directed by management.

Please note that the successful candidate will need the flexibility to work over a 7-day period as per the operational needs of the store. When applying for the role, please may we kindly request that you note the store which would be your preference to work with.

Essential Criteria for the role:

  • Basic Math and English skills.
  • Basic IT knowledge and experience of using IT software.

Desirable Criteria for the role:

  • Experience of printing/personalisation would be advantageous.
