Working Schedule
|
The role requires an individual who can perform such hours as necessary to complete their roles and responsibilities.
The position will involve working irregular hours (e.g., evenings/Saturdays/Sundays/Bank Holidays) based around team schedules.

Roles and Responsibilities
|
- Lead the individual development of the players in the Under 18-21 age groups, in line with the Academy methodology.
- Lead the progression and pathway of players in and out of the Under 18-21 age groups.
- Manage the review and IDT meeting process for players in the Under 18-21 age groups.
- Ensure that all PMA tasks are completed by the staff working with the Under 18-21 age groups.
- Lead on an effective review and feedback programme with players, coaches and families to monitor player progress and development.
- Play a key role in the delivery and evaluation of the Academy methodology, play book and curriculum content, as directed by the Academy Technical Board.
- Lead on the care and support of the well-being of Under 9-10 players in collaboration with the EPCS department.
- Assist cross department projects which aim to improve the way data and video is used as a feedback mechanism with the staff and players.
- Support the Head of Coaching, Head of Methodology and Head of Individual Development with our in-house staff education initiatives, particularly for Under 18-21 staff.
- Sharing of relevant video, data and other resources with staff, players and parents using various Swansea City Academy platforms.
- Carry out any other reasonable management requests.

Qualifications
|
Essential
- UEFA A Licence
- Undergraduate degree in Sports Coaching, Sports Coaching, Performance Analysis, or related subject.
- FA Learning Safeguarding Children Certificate & FA Emergency Aid in Football Certificate.
- CRB check undertaken.
Desirable
- Postgraduate degree in Sports Coaching, Sports Coaching, Performance Analysis, or related subject.
- UEFA A Licence or UEFA Elite Youth Licence, and The FA Advanced Youth Award.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
|
Essential
- Minimum three years coaching and analysis experience within Academy coaching and/or MDT environment.
- Minimum five years coaching experience within an Academy setting.
- Depth and quality of experience within individual player and staff development in both coaching and analysis settings.
- Ability to demonstrable a strong level of technical football knowledge and game understanding.
- Ability to relate to and understand young people, demonstrating personality and enthusiasm.
- Proficient in the use of software (eg. Sportscode/Hudl).
- Experience of working in pressurised situations and to deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and IT skills.
- Ability to adapt and change at short notice.
Desirable
- At least three years experience specialising in technical development programmes and delivery.
- Depth and quality of experience in creating, delivering and evaluating an Academy curriculum and technical development.
- Experience with telestration tools such as HUDL Studio, Piero, CoachPaint.
