Job summary

The award-winning West Ham United Foundation (WHUF) is seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager to help achieve its aims; forging exceptional relationships with stakeholders and promoting the organisation’s outstanding work in the community.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Communications Manager will make up an intrinsic part of West Ham United Foundation’s central team, responsible for internal and external marketing and communications outputs.

The post holder will need to be able to work independently as well as in a team to meet set objectives and will be required to have a great deal of interaction across Football Development, Community, Learning and Operations teams, as well as the organisation’s beneficiaries, ambassadors and Football Club colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Producing engaging marketing and communications outputs which raise the profile of the Foundation and its initiatives
  • Leading on plans and campaigns across a variety of channels
  • Providing strategic support
  • Creating and proof-read content for a variety of purposes, such as: press releases, website news, case studies, award nominations, match day programmes, social media posts, flyers and other materials
  • Managing interviews and media activities
  • Co-ordinating events, campaigns and fundraising activities
  • Holding relationships with beneficiaries, ambassadors, media, stakeholders and charities
  • Delivering frameworks which aid the functions of the marketing and communications department and wider organisation
  • Supporting programme and player activities
  • Maintaining up to date monitoring, databases and decks
  • Working alongside team members to deliver best practice and support the organisation’s values

  1. After contacting and taking guidance from the Safeguarding Team, staff must use the Club’s Child Protection Online Management System (CPOMS ) to record the concern within 24 hours unless directed to do otherwise.
