Location Based primarily at the Club’s Training Ground, TSG Elite Training &
Performance Centre.
Hours Full time. Due to the nature of the post regular evening and weekend work
will be necessary
Job Purpose 1) To lead on the development and monitoring of the Club’s game
model and coaching methodology across all QPR teams.
2) To oversee the implementation of the Club’s game model and
coaching methodology across all phases of the Academy and the
Women’s Team.
3) To play a key role in the production of Academy-developed players
ready to for the First Team.
Remuneration Salary commensurate with skills and experience.
Role Accountabilities & Key Duties
Coaching Methodology
1 To lead on the development and monitoring of the Club’s game model and coaching
methodology across all QPR teams.
2 To oversee the implementation of the Club’s game model and coaching methodology across
all phases of the Academy and the Women’s Team.
3 To design age-appropriate coaching curriculums to support the Club’s development
strategy.
4 To lead on the design of appraisal systems for training sessions in line with the Club’s
methodology and game model.
5 To work collaboratively with Performance, Recruitment, and Analysis staff to ensure there is
clear understanding of the methodology and its implementation into the overall strategy
and daily decision-making.
6 To oversee the game model document that sets-out the Club’s playing philosophy via
written descriptions, images, video, and data.
7 To design technical data scoring systems to evaluate individual and team performances.8 To work closely with the Assistant Heads of Methodology to align the delivery of the
methodology across all phases of the game including set-pieces.
Coach Education
9 To lead on the delivery & implementation of the Coaches Competency Framework (CCF) for
Coaching Staff across all phases of the Academy and the Women’s Team.
10 To undertake observations that support the individual Development Actions Plans (DAPs) of
Coaching Staff across all phases of the Academy and the Women’s Team.
11 To regularly observe training sessions and fixtures to ensure that staff are supported with
delivery methods.
12 To provide the Academy’s link with the designated FA Youth Coach Developer, ensuring that
the training needs assessments of all Academy Coaching Staff are considered.
13 To lead on the design and delivery of Academy learning and development events.
Pathway Management
14 To play a key role in the production of Academy-developed players ready to for the First
Team.
15 To work closely with the Academy Director and Head of Integrated Performance to design,
monitor and evaluate individual performance and development plans for Professional
Development Phase players.
16 To provide insightful contributions towards the Club’s succession planning meetings.
17 To be a member of the Academy Management Team (AMT), attending all meetings and
providing relevant updates.
18 To support the delivery of review meetings with players & parents/carers in line with EPPP
requirements.
Leadership
19 To work closely with the Academy Director to design technical documents to support the
Academy’s Performance Plan.
20 To provide line-management and mentoring support to Academy Coaching Staff.
21 To conduct performance appraisals for direct reports.
22 To promote a culture of innovation across the Coaching Department, ensuring that regular
research is conducted into new ways of working.
23 To undertake personal CPD as appropriate to meet the demands of the role.
24 To deliver all other duties that may arise from time to time and fall within the scope of this
position.
Safeguarding
25 To have or develop an impeccable knowledge of safeguarding best practice to include a
deep understanding of safeguarding children’s regulations, including legislation & governing
body rules.
26 To ensure that any safeguarding or welfare concerns are reporting efficiently.
27 To comply with all company policies/procedures and adhere to all company regulations

4 Hold or working towards PL EHOC Certificate. √

9 Full UK Driving Licence. √

10 Experience of implementing a game model and coaching
methodology across a club.
