As Head of Marketing, you will be a commercially focused marketing professional to drive the marketing of Portsmouth FC, with the aim of maximising uptake of existing products and services as well as developing new products/services that will drive growth for the Club.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, you will deliver a range of effective campaigns, whilst interacting with related Club departments such as Engagement, Commercial, Media and Fan Services to ensure that the Club’s objectives of growing its fanbase and increasing loyalty are delivered.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead on the Club’s loyalty programme, working with Club Partners to enhance the offering and install a new level of loyalty for supporters
  • Responsible for managing the relationship with the Club’s merchandise partners to drive sales and help enhance the product offering
  • Support partnership development, including assisting in the identification of key markets using data insight and provision of high-quality promotional materials
  • Maximise retention and sales of Season Ticket holders, membership and match by match tickets.
  • Oversee that all customer data is properly and promptly stored on the various ticketing and CRM systems used by the club and that the data stored is compliant with the Data Protection Act (DPA) advising the Executive team where the Club is not compliant.
  • Lead and contribute to the development of the Club’s databases and CRM systems highlighting improvements and enhancements through proactive relationships with the various vendors.
  • Drive the creation of new products and services across the business to help drive revenue and enhance the supporter experience
  • Promotion of a strong internal marketing culture
  • Responsibility for delivering the marketing objectives relating to the Club’s other business interests which are connected to the football club (ROKO, Training facility)
  • Provide inspirational leadership to the marketing team to deliver truly connected content marketing aligned to business goals
  • Lead the team to develop, manage and deliver marketing communications/campaigns on brief, on time and to budget with clear goals in mind
  • To lead on the Clubs Social Media strategy, by clear management of the social and digital teams to ensure they aligned with the Clubs marketing objectives.
  • Support other departments with high quality, best in class marketing services to drive revenue across the business
  • To provide the Chief Commercial Officer with customer insight and segmentation analysis to improve our understanding of customers, highlighting areas of opportunity to grow existing and new business.
