Our world class Training Centre in Enfield is where all the First Team and the Academy’s training and coaching activities occur, and where the Academy department is based.

JOB PURPOSE:

The Foundation Phase Academy Coach and EDC Co-ordinator will deliver the Academy Coaching Curriculum within the Foundation Phase (U9-U12) and also co-ordinate the Elite Development Centre programme (U7-U11)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Devise and deliver sessions to allocated age groups in the Foundation Phase within the Academy Curriculum/Syllabus
  • Responsible for match day preparation and performance of your allocated age group
  • Participate in the selection of squads and travel on foreign tours as required, providing pastoral care that adheres to Academy guidelines/policies.
  • Conduct and compile Individual Learning Plans for players in allocated age group as per Premier League rules (Every six weeks for Under 12’s and every 12 weeks for U9’s-U11’s)
  • Conduct mid-season and end of season Player/Parent meetings.
  • Establish relationships with players and parents of allocated age group in line with Academy Policies and manage age group specific communication via Club issued devices.
  • Work closely with Academy Medical, Sports Science, Analysis, Education, Player Care/Safeguarding, Operations and Kit staff regarding the players’ holistic programme and needs.
  • Liaise with Academy Recruitment team regarding potential trialist/signings.
  • Embody the Academy Philosophy and apply to all aspects of interactions with Academy Stakeholders (players, parents & colleagues)
  • To co-ordinate the Elite Development Centre Programme (U7-U11’s) and refer/release players from this programme where deemed appropriate
  • Maintain mandatory CPD record, including Club issue DBS check (every three years), UEFA Licence (15 hours of the appropriate level CPD every three years), FA Advanced Youth Award, FA Safeguarding Children Workshop (every three years), relevant FA Emergency First Aid qualification as per Premier League rules (currently EFAiF – every three years)
  • Ensure your allocated age group’s data entry (both for training sessions and matches) is accurate and up to date on the relevant systems
  • To support other Academy programmes and activities as well as ‘Area Best’ events when required
  • This position may require work outside or normal office hours including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

  • Experience of working with children (7–12-year-olds)
  • Experience of working to deadlines in a high-pressure environment
  • UEFA License (essential)
  • FA Emergency First Aid in Football (essential)
  • FA Safeguarding Children Qualification (essential)
