The Purpose

Manchester United is seeking to hire a Football Strategy Analyst who will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and building efficiency improvements to data and reporting processes, and supporting on strategy projects within the football departments

The Role

  • Support Strategic Planning and Project Management
  • Support the Football Strategy Manager on projects across the football departments
  • Analysis, preparation, and presentation of materials relating to projects across the football departments
  • Support and manage the cadence and governance structures of projects across the football departments
  • Management Information, Reporting and Meetings
  • Support the development of management reports, KPI reports and dashboards across the football departments
  • Responsible for the delivery of regular management reports, KPI reports and dashboards in line with the meeting and reporting cadence • Continually identify improvements to the reporting format and schedule
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment and deliver against challenging deadlines Engage and communicate regularly with key stakeholders across the football departments to gather data and increase collaboration Systems and IT
  • General knowledge of database concepts such as tables and queries
  • Experience managing, cleaning and aggregating data from a variety of different data sources
  • Able to create automated workflows and reports
  • Experience using data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI or Qlik
  • Able to summarise and present data and information in the most appropriate format for users
  • Willingness to learn new approaches and adapt to different working styles
  • Develop ideas including identification and analysis of new software and technology to improve reporting across all football departments

The Person

  • To qualify for this role, candidates must offer a strong academic background, a good professional track record and be able to demonstrate a full range of soft skills which are important to operate with different multi-cultural teams across the club.
  • At least two years of experience relating to management reporting, data visualisation and data workflows
  • Demonstrative experience of working with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail and ability to organisational skills
  • Structured and analytical in approach
  • Comfortable with change and an agile approach to work
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment and deliver against challenging deadlines
  • Willingness to learn new approaches and adapt to different working styles
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented
  • Team player who seeks and acts on feedback
  • Fluency in English required
