Post Title: Events Administrator 

Role status: Full-time, 35 Hours, Permanent

Organisational base: Hybrid (Mix of home working and office based at EFL House Preston)

Reporting to: Events Manager

Salary: £21,840 per year with opportunity to progress plus benefits package

This is an incredible opportunity to work within the EFL’s Football Services team based in Preston. Reporting to the Events Manager, you will be responsible for the organisation and administration of the Football League’s world class events such as The EFL Cup Final, The EFL Trophy Final and the EFL Play-Off Finals amongst others. As well as these you will be supporting with other events including, but not limited to, the EFL Awards, Social Events and Club Meetings

These role is vital to the successful execution of football league events, fostering a vibrant and engaging experience for players, fans, and clubs. You could be part of that!

Key Responsibilities
  • Day to day administration of EFL Finals including the EFL Cup, EFL Trophy and Play Offs
  • Support with the planning of other EFL events including the EFL Awards and Social Events
  • Co-ordinate specific areas of all Finals including Ball Kids, Child and Character Mascots, Catering, Match Day Tours and Programmes
  • Support with the organisation of the Girls’ and Kids’ Cup Finals at Wembley Stadium
  • Take the lead on ticketing for EFL Finals whilst using the Wembley Stadium ticketing system
  • Assist in producing and presenting proposals for ticket prices for each event to the EFL Executives
  • Process internal staff and operational ticket requests for Finals
  • Support the decision-making process with regards to ticket holds, allocations and assist in the resolution of all segregation and ticket allocation issues with the relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Aid with the production of a comprehensive information document for Finalist Clubs and event specific guides which detail all aspects of match day operations
  • Support the arrangement of all internal and external event meetings, minute taking and the execution of any action points that arise
  • Support with post-event administration including debriefs, ticket reconciliations and catering invoices
  • Assist with the organisation of Club meetings as and when required including venue finding and catering requirements
  • Support the Events team with any additional administration duties such as organising travel & hotels, as well as managing & processing expenses
Person Specification

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following Knowledge, Skills and Attributes that are essential to the role;

  • 2 years of experience in administration (or equivalent)
  • Exceptional organisational skills
  • Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • An advanced competency in all Microsoft Office packages
  • A proven ability to produce high quality reports and documents
  • Ability to problem solve and work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritise workload and maintain a self-starting, calm and considered approach to problem solving
  • A proven ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines whilst ensuring standards and quality remain high Accurate with a keen eye for detail
  • A flexible and adaptable working approach
  • Contribute to promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation
  • Interest and knowledge in fields of sustainability – including environmental and social sustainability
  • Lead by example by contributing to promoting the principles of the EFL;

Advantageous
  • An awareness of the EFL, its 72 member clubs and the wider Football family
  • Previous experience working in a sporting environment
  • Previous experience working in event management or an event management qualification
  • An understanding of football compliance and EFL regulations
