DISABILITY AND INCLUSION FOOTBALL COACH - CASUAL

The Purpose

Manchester United Foundation believes every young person should feel empowered to achieve their goals and uses the power of football and Manchester United to support young people to make positive choices in their lives.

This role will be to ensure that we provide high quality football sessions for disabled young people across Greater Manchester.

To deliver weekly sessions that are held at indoor and outdoor venues for young disabled people aged 5 and older, their friends and family. Ensuring all football sessions are inclusive and accessible to all participants. Sessions are free of charge and participants have a range of abilities and disabilities. This role will also support the development of the Foundation’s PARA talent programme and England pathway for players.

  • Ensuring everything is done safely, fairly, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Planning and delivering is to the best of standards.
  • To capture the success and impact of your work.
  • Responsibility to safeguard the welfare of children and adults at risk.
  • To deliver high quality, fun, engaging inclusive football sessions in line with the Inclusive Reds delivery plan.
  • To collaborate with parents and carers and adopt a multi-agency approach to ensuring the needs of children and young people are met.
  • To undertake personal development as and when required by Manchester United Foundation and the club.
The Person
  • Previous experience of working with children and young people with disabilities in a football setting.
  • A minimum FA Level 1 in coaching football
  • First Aid qualification
  • Understanding of Safeguarding best practice
  • Knowledge of implementing policies and procedures especially health and safety and risk assessments.
  • Self-driven individual who brings life and energy to their delivery.
  • Ability to be a positive role model.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and as a team member.
  • Punctual.
  • Flexible.
