An exciting opportunity has become available within the Academy at Watford Football Club. We are currently looking to recruit an Academy Lead FDP/YDP Performance Analyst. The successful candidate will support the lead analyst in the creation and implementation of the Academy performance analysis programme and support the feedback for all FDP/YDP academy staff and players through the implementation of video analysis and IT support.

The successful candidates will enjoy working as part of a team, be enthusiastic, have an understanding of development needs of players in the Youth Development Phase age group, ensuring the individual comes first and be flexible to the requirements of the role and the business.

Applicants should ideally live local to Watford, London Colney or the surrounding areas and be a UK resident or non-UK resident with a valid UK work permit.

You must have:

  • BSc in Sport and Exercise Science or a sports related discipline
  • Experience of using industry software (Sports Code, Prozone etc.) and video editing programmes (iMovie, Final Cut Pro etc.)
  • Experience of working in a sports setting with youth athletes
  • Have an excellent understanding of football tactics and performance
  • Valid FA Safeguarding Certificate or equivalent
  • Be able to work effectively in a team environment and operate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary support team
  • Ability to anticipate and prioritise workload
  • Full UK driving licence or ability to travel to various locations due to the demands of the role
  • Understanding of the club’s commitment to EDI & Safeguarding

You would ideally have, but not vital:

  • MSc in Sport and Exercise Science or a sports related discipline
  • Experience of working within youth athletes within a football academy setting
  • FA First Aid Level 2 Qualification or equivalent

As a regulated activity provider and as part of the short-listing process we may:

  3. If your application is successful be required to obtain a DBS disclosure at the appropriate level (role dependant)
